A Magistrate court in Ikeja, Lagos state has on Tuesday, yesterday ordered the remand of an old man 82-year-old, Ayoade Omobolaji, for allegedly using, dehumanizing, and defiling a 13-year-old girl.
Magistrate Judge, Bola Osunsanmi, whom the octogenarian was arraigned before was charged on one count of unlawful sexual intercourse. which he blatantly pleaded not guilty.
Omobolaji, 82, committed the offence on September 25 on Amosu Street, Obadore, Igando, Lagos,. According to Simon Imhonum, the police prosecutor.
That you Ayoade Omobolaji, on September 25, 2017, om Amosu Street, Obadore, Igando, Lagos, did forcefully and unlawfully defile one girl, aged 13, by having sexual intercourse with her, thereby committing an offence punishable under Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011, the charge read in part.The defendant was granted bail by the Magistrate Judge, Osunsanmi, with the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in the like sum.
She gave orders that the sureties must work in a reputable organisation, own property within the court's jurisdiction and must show evidence of tax payment within the last three years, a;; of which must be verified.
Meanwhile the octogenarian would remain in police custody, pending the perfection of his bail terms.
The case was adjourned till the 21th of November for trial.
