It was reported earlier today that an aspiring lawyer was shot and killed by the police after she crashed her car with that of an officer's car.

The 22-year-old woman, Cariann Hithon was said by her relatives to be celebrating her birthday when she crashed her black BMW into three vehicles in Miami.

She did not hesitate to start her car and moved with speed, when a little crowd tried to get closer to know her status. While on speed, she knocked one Florida Police officer to the ground before another quickly fired three times at her, her car then changed direction abruptly.

She lost her life as a result of her wounds after been rushed to a nearby Hospital.
The policeman she hit, David Cajuso, has been released from hospital and is recovering at home, the Miami /////////beach police department said.
Ms. Hithon and her friend, who got out of the car before she sped off were believed to be drinking heavily, according to investigators of the Miami Herald.

In social media footage of the shooting, one bystander was heard saying the driver was "drunk as she**."

Mr. Cary Hithon, the father of Cariann Hithon, said that his daughter's actions were "out of character."
My daughter, the aspiring lawyer wanted to make a difference in the lives of people who weren't as fortunate as her, he told CBS Miami.
She had recently transferred from Hampton University Virginia to Temple University in Philadelphia and was expected to graduate with a degree in political sciences.

Prosecutors have opened an inquiry into whether police acted lawfully in shooting and killing Ms Hithon.
