Sad: Newborn baby girl is found abandoned covered in ants after parents dumped her because she’s not a boy
Who would have done this evil thing?
Fortunately, a new born baby girl was rescued from a bin where she was found abandoned in a plastic bag, covered in ants.
This happened in India, where a police investigation in Bhopal in the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh believed she might have been abandoned by her parents because she was not a boy.
A man named Dheeraj Rathore was the one who found her, he heard cries from a container when passing by it. When he got close to the rubbish container, he discovered a seriously underweight baby dumped. DailyMail reports.
The baby was discovered in the early hours of Saturday by Dheeraj Rathore, who runs a tea stall.
Marks and bruises were found on her body when she was taken to the hospital which could indicate that she was abused physically.
The Doctor in charge says that the infant is in a very critical condition and she weighs just about 3.51bs, and the normal and average weight for a baby carried to term is between 5.51bs and 8.81bs.
The parents of the infant is been currently searched for as the police has taken up the case after registering it.
It is no new news that there is a preferential treatment between male and female in many parts of India, with fewer than 800 girls are born for every 1,000 boys in some states.
This has several causes; as daughters are traditionally married off with a dowry, they leave the family and are not around to care for their parents and a dowry is mostly expensive.
Sons are also traditionally seen as potential heirs to property and the family business, however gender equality campaigners are trying to change this view.
Same thing is applicable in most countries of the world where women are less regarded in the society and this is a menace we have to fight.
